2011 Annual General Meeting
| Due to unforseen circumstances the 2011 AGM was unable to be held on the usual date in 2011. The WRA Constitution allows for this eventuality and under Para 26 states: If, owing to circumstances beyond the control of the Council, the AGM cannot be held at the usual time, the existing Council shall continue in office until such a time as an Annual General Meeting can reasonably be called. The WRA Council have thus decided that the first reasonable date will be the second main Welsh weekend at Bisley in 2012 which will be Saturday 28th April. Please note also that Chris Watson has been co-opted to Council as Treasurer in place of Dave Davies who had given a year's notice of his intention to resign. We thank Dave for his stirling efforts over many years. He has agreed to help Chris come up to speed and take over as soon as possible. |
Richard Jeens - World Long Range Champion 2011
| Today (19/10/2011) Richard Jeens won the World Individual Long Range Championships on Duncan Range in Belmont, Brisbane Australia to become the first Welsh World Champion! He beat Andre Du Toit of South Africa into 2nd, David Luckman (GB and immediately previous World Champion) into 3rd and Jane Messer (GB) to 4th in the Final held between the top ten ranking shooters after 9 ranges (3 x 800, 900 and 1000 yards) over 4 very testing days' shooting and more importantly wind reading.
